Gettin worried here about the lack of snow in arinsal, We are heading out there on the 28th with airtours (booked it packet it). lets hope it snows before then eh. is there any one else trveling out around this time ????

Hi there,
I have got back from a week skiing in Arinsal. It%26#39;s true that there is no natural snow, and down the in village you wouldn%26#39;t know you were at a ski resort, as there is no snow there at all. HOWEVER, they have worked wonders with the snow cannons and you can ski all the way from the top of the mountain down to where the gondola comes up to, with a couple of different routes. They%26#39;ve got the cannons going every night, so there%26#39;s fresh %26quot;snow%26quot; every morning and the pistes are well groomed. It%26#39;s worth getting up there for 9am when the chairlifts start running, as you%26#39;ll have the mountain to yourselves (ski school starts at 9.30am most days) for a while and the snow is great then. It does get rather slushy towards the bottom of the slopes in the afternoons, but by the next morning it%26#39;s all refreshed again.
You can also get across to a few runs on the Pal side by taking the cable car at the top of the mountain - this was opening at 10am each morning whilst I was there. That will give you a bit more variety. As my other half was a beginner, I didn%26#39;t get to do this, but many people took the organised trips over to Arcalis on Wednesday and Saturday and said that there were some nice runs over there, with a few more challenging ones.
Keep an eye on metcheck.com, where it shows you what snow is forecast - at the moment it%26#39;s saying a really good dumping of snow at the end of this week. Let%26#39;s hope it%26#39;s true!

Thanks for that link. A bit to far in the future to be accurate though. There was 10 cm forecast for last week about 10 days ago and the temperature shot up instead.

Going from Cork on 28th as well - to Arinsal. Hope the Forecast for next weekend is right!!

We%26#39;re flying out on the 4th of feb from cork ,if conditions are poor in arinsal we%26#39;re going to drive to arcalis where conditions should be alot better but still hope it snows

Just returned from a week in Arinsal and sorry to say that there was no %26#39;natural%26#39; snow. This did not stop us from ski-ing though. The cannons are used every night and you can ski from the top of the mountain all the way down to the gondola on blue and red runs. You can take a trip across to Pal from the top of the mountain but we found the slopes over there to be very icey and quite difficult.
The lack of snow took away the %26#39;charm%26#39; as you were ski-ing between green mountains. Have read that a big dump is due this week, however, they said that before we went too.
