Hi,
have not been to Andorra before and am thinking of going on a walking holiday based in Soldeu around August. We are thinking of going with Inghams.
Me and the other half are reasonably fit and enjoy a bit of hiking but not all day foot-numbing ascents.
Anyone got any experiences of walking around Soldeu, best/worst hotels in summer etc?
I have heard Andorra is a bit overdeveloped - anyone agree with that who has been there?
Thanks in advance,
Jonathan Shields

I have a walking map of Andorra from when I went on an Inghams holiday to Arinsal last summer - will take a look at the choice of walks from Soldeu if you get back to me.
Arinsal was in a very steep valley and the walks were far from easy but everyone said Soldeu was much better for the casual walker.
It%26#39;s a great little country and make sure you leave time to visit the capital Andorra La Vella for shopping. Careful what you buy though as they will check your bags when you enter Spain.
A word of warning is that the transfer from Barcelona is a very long way (4 hours) and Inghams do use minibuses. We were lucky to have a coach each time, but I couldn%26#39;t imagine being on a minibus in August for 4 hours.....

Soldeu in Summer is great. We went with Inghams 2 years ago %26amp; are going back this summer. We stayed (%26amp; will stay again) at the Piolets Park %26amp; Spa at the bottom of the village. Lovely room, great food %26amp; wine.
The Aspen Bar is pleasant in the evenings and they have some connection with Inghams/Crystal %26amp; operate a minibus to take you to the start of popular walks and bring you home again in the afternoon (for a small fee!). The gondola up at the Hotel Sport is open some weeks in the summer which makes for an easy ascent/descent (I thought the lift pass was expensive though) and there is plenty of fantastic walking in all the nearby valleys.
Soldeu was really tiny 2 years ago but there was some building going on. I expect it to be a little more built up. However Soldeu is primarily a ski resort, in Summer it should still be very quiet.
If you like horse riding there is a stable 50-100 yds down from the hotel. There%26#39;s downhill mountain biking available too!
