Barcelona to Andorra is about 120 miles. It should take less than 3 hours along the E9. The journey is much better than the destination.

Andorra is absolutely worth the trip, though it is a long drive. If you drive in for the day, leave Barcelona early so you can spend tas much time as possible there. I suggest you drive right thru the country and stop in the towns on the way back I particularly recommned Ordino and Les Escaldes. The best duty free shoppong is in Andorra de Vella. You can stop here on your way out. You will find alot of designer and luxury goods. We didn%26#39;t shop streets are very crowded, and there are loads of shops, parking is very difficlt here just park in a lot. This is NOT the prettiest part of the country. If you really want to shop alot plus see the counrty and enjoy the food Adoorra would be a good overnight stay. We have been back a few times since our first day trip . Enjoy your trip.

Just to add a bit to what Eve said . . . Andorra is great! We did a day trip from Barcelona a few years ago. It is a long ride ( 3 hours). You can drive through the entire Country on the main road in less than an hour. You can see as the small Country changes from Spanish to French. Near the French boarder you are high up in the mountains and there are some beautiful views.

The capital is where most of the duty free stores are found. I was not particularly impressed by the City or the %26quot;bargains.%26quot; The alcohol is a good price as well as the tobacco (if you smoke).

We went back 2 years ago and stayed in Ordino. It was beautiful! I would recommend it if you like to hike or at least drive through beautiful Country. Remember you are in the hear of the Pyrennes.

We plan to spend a few days in Andorra is 2008.

Of course, make sure you see all of Barcelona. A shorter day trip is the beach resort of Sitges. Check the Web to see what iot is like in September.
