Snowboarding in Soldeu

Please forgive me if there is already a topic on snowboarding in Soldeu but I couldn%26#39;t find it!

I am considering taking my family (teenagers) snowboarding and am seriously considering Soldeu. The majority of our party are beginners so are wondering what the conditions and schools are like? Also we have an intermediate with us so are there enough challenging routes or parks there?

Thanks in advance

Hi! My boyfriend and I (both 25 going on 16) went to Soldeu this year and that was our first snowboarding holiday. I couldn%26#39;t recommend Soldeu enough! The school there is very highly acclaimed and the green easy runs and nursery are up the mountain so if you prefer to stick to that atleast you feel you are %26#39;up there%26#39;. Also the blue runs are great for beginners and there are plently. Most of them are wide and uncrowded so you can take your time. We went in late January and the snow was perfect. If some of your group pick things up quicker and fancy more challenging runs, most of the red and blue runs start at the same point and meet down at the bottom. There are certainly more difficult runs which would keep any intermediate or advanced occupied and as I said before they all tend to meet up again so you still feel like you are snowboarding together. There is also a good park there although when we were there it was closed, but one in Pas de la Casa was open.

We are planning to go again next year because we had such a great time.

The atmosphere on and off the slopes is so friendly as well. Make sure you book a hotel in Soldeu like the Himalaia which was super. Some hotels are outside Soldeu but still say their location is Soldeu so check the map.

Is there anything else? Oh make sure you have hot chocolate and brandy from the restaurant at the top of the main gondala!

Book it! Have fun!
