Get from Girona to Andorra??

I%26#39;m planning to go to Soldeu in mid February and completely new to Andorra. We%26#39;re flying to Girona airport with Ryanair but I can%26#39;t find any way of transfer from this airport to Soldeu.

Can someone share some transfer tips? Otherwise we%26#39;ll end up renting a car.

Otherwise - We are going to Les Angles in France on the 11th. We normally rent a car and drive through Spain and cross the border at Bourge-Madame. This is the way to Andorra - we turn right in France and Andorra is left.

It is a pleasant, fairly easy drive, although it gets a bit windy as you get near France.

We get our car from Europcar, £174.29 for an intermediate (Mondeo type). This year we are going the longer way round via Perpignan as Ryanair moved our flight time from 6:10 to 11:40 and for us this is quicker, but not so nice.

I am arriving in Girona and have booked a private bus through the internet site novatel. They also have public transport from Girona to Andorra lavelle but the bus leaves girona at approx 3.30 and we arrive at 10.30 am so we decided to hire a private bus. Cost is 700.00 euro return for 10 of us. Directly to our hotel and back to girona airport at the end of the week,

We have just returned from Andorra, on the way there we went on the motorway system near to Barcalona, (A7 then C16 via Manressa towards Andorra) when you exit the Tunnel de Cadi(toll 9 euros) you can either go towards Pulgcerda or La Seu d%26#39;Urgell. If you don%26#39;t need chains go the first way if you need chains go via La Seu d%26#39;Urgell and get chains from one of the large Supermarkets just accross thr boarder.

On the way back we took the N152/C17, which the internet route finder said would be quicker,although more senic it will take longer, We hired our cars from Avis via a UK agency called www.suncars.com there were 8 of us and got 2 estates cars for 100 pounds each.

We%26#39;re going for a short break in march fully inclusive 4 day car hire for a Focus is £83.

Drive should be a pleasant 21/2-3 hrs.

RB - I was going to hire snow chains with the car - do you know how much they are to buy in the suoermarkets you mentioned ?

I have never found snow chains to rent in the Pyrenees. Car hire firms offer them on their web sites, but never have them. We bought a set 2 years ago and pray every year that the car has the same size tyres ;-(

Can%26#39;t remember how much they were.

Practice putting them on when you buy them. It will be much easier in a clear car park than in 3 inches of freezing snow.

Update to my last post

We have a car rented from Europcar in Girona. I asked about chains for tomorrow and was told that they can rent them, but for next week it would be better to wait and see it we needed them and buy from a supermarket.
