advice needed for skiing holiday

I am looking to go skiing for the first time around the 3rd week in February with a group of middle aged friends, some have done it once before but 3 of us are new to skiing. We are looking at Andorra as we have been told its quite reasonable price wise. Can anyone recommend a nice resort in Andorra and accomodation, preferably a hotel H/B or apartment. If not Andorra, then anywhere that is nice and not expensive. thanks!!

Hold off booking any skiing in Andorra until mid Feb and watch www.j2ski.com

Hi

Have you thought about Bansko in Bulgaria?

It is a nice cheap resort and ideal for beginers.

You need to be looking for an apartment near the gondola - the town, which is full of cheap, friendly Mehanas serving brilliant and ever so chep food is about 5-10 mins walk from the gondola area.

The ski-ing is with modern lifts and is ace.

I have just come back yesterday from Andorra. I am a good skier, but at the moment the country is suffering from a massive deficit in snow. Only about 60% of the runs are open and nearly all use artificial snow. You can ski and the school in Soledu is very good BUT be warned it is very icy.

I am just about to write a review for Els Meners, Canillo. It was brilliant. We had an apartment for 4 days for about £40pd.

Good luck,

Scott
