Hi there Andorra brains...
Will be in Andorra for 3 whole days over the last weeken in March. Arriving and departing on the night train and as such only need two nights accomoadation.
here are some questions I have which, if answered, would help greatly;
1. Is it possible to have one morning of ski lessons? I%26#39;m a complete rookie and as such do not have any of the ski gear, even clothing. It%26#39;s not the end of the world if this doesnt happen.
2. has anyone been this time of yeah before? Is there likely to be snow in the villages as well as on the mountain?
3. I%26#39;m torn about where to stay. We could stay in the capital and bus it to the resorts. My heart tells me i want to be surrounded by snow and so should spend most our time in a resort and i think this would open opportunites for....
4. Winter activities.... which resort offers the widest range? I would like to hire a skidoo and throw myslef down a snowy hill on a tube. Or something like that. This would inform our decision about where to stay. I have my eye on Soldeu. Restaurants and night life would be an added bonus!
Thank you in advance for your wisdom.

Facialhair??!! You can book a two hour session for €40 or for €44 two of you can take the same session. Just book it at the ski school building somewhere near the top of the gondola.
At the very least bring waterproof trousers and jacket. Under this you can wear two layers on top and one layer below. A hat, scarf, sunglasses and gloves are also very essential. You can rent the skis,poles boots at the ski hire shop somewhere near the gondola at %26#39;ground%26#39; level.
A lot of Snow will be in the villages for a day or three after a heavy snowfall. After this it turns to slush and machines remove it from the roadways. However it remains on roofs and trees for a little while longer. Have a look at this photo which was taken last week in El Tarter.

Stay in Soldeu or El Tarter. It will open up opportunities for skiing, sledding with huskies, tobogganing, Spa treatment and shopping ! I say Soldeu first as it is more lively then El Tarter.
Regarding throwing yourself down a hill on a tube, in El Tarter this was known as Slide and Wild and cost €30 per person including a barbecue afterwards. I did book but it was cancelled for Health and Safety reasons - Thank God.
Enjoy.

I stayed in Arinsal (St Gothard Hotel) approx 4 years ago. Arinsal is linked to Pal by cable car which increases the ski area available. Other resorts near by are Ordino and Arcalis but to my knowlege are not linked you will need to travel there by bus or taxi. Collectively this area is known as Vallnord. It is quite a bit smaller than the skiing range Grandvalira linking Pas/Grau Riog/Soldeu/El Tarter/Canillo/Encamp, which would be better for the more advanced skier which I am not! you will find enough to keep you occupied though! Regarding nightlife Pas de la casa is the livliest but there are a few clubs and sufficient bar to keep you out as long as you want. I think Arinsal has quite a nice atmosphere and i%26#39;m sure you will enjoy your stay!
