Skiing in Andorra in Feb 08

Hi all,

I%26#39;ll be in Barcelona for business in February and would like to go skiing in Andorra for 3 days. Have a few questions:

1. What%26#39;s the best way to get to Andorra from BCN (either the city or the airport)? Renting a car is an obvious choice, but I figured I won%26#39;t really need it while in Andorra, so it seems like a lot of money for just a roundtrip transportation. I heard you can get there by bus, but wasn%26#39;t able to find detailed timetable or route info. Does anybody have a better idea?

2. What%26#39;s the best place to ski for a somewhat advanced skier? Are all resorts interlinked? Can I hop easily from one to the other if I don%26#39;t have a car? I have Encamp in mind as a home base, is it a good option?

3. Is there any kind of shuttle that runs between hotels and Funicamp in Encamp?

I%26#39;ll be there Feb 15-18, so if anyone wants to join - welcome! Or maybe someone is looking for a travel mate to share housing / transportation?

There are several companies running shuttles from the airport (don%26#39;t know any from the city centre) to Andorra.

If there is only one of you, then you don%26#39;t have much choice of times. The bus journey takes about 6 hours and a car about 3.

izar. I can give you some info on your question number 2.

Yes, all the resorts are interlinked under one name called Grand Valira. Previously all the gondolas and lifts were separate, but now with one lift pass you can use all the lifts on Grand Valira. Experienced skiers that I met up with went from El Tarter all the way to Pas de la casa and told me that they needed to use 4 lifts on the way. This ski duration was about 4 hours including a lunch break. In the other direction you can ski all the way into France.
