Hi,
Ok my boyfriend and I went skiing for the first time last January (2007) in Soldeu, we stayed in the Sport Hermitage Hotel, even though I was quite pricey it was worth it. The only thing was the snow wasn%26#39;t great until the 3rd day, we were lucky it snowed at all as we were learning to ski on ice!!!
So we want to go back skiing this year (20th of January 2008) but don%26#39;t know where to start, i have a few questions if anyone could help or give sugestions that would be really great.
1. we are now begginer/intermediste skiers so lots of blue and red slope...we found soldeu was good as we could ski into the next town and not the same slope all the time.
2. the ski school in soldeu was amazing and we did provate lessons also in the afternoon...that ski school has been voted best in europe and we would love somewhere close to as good as it.
3. the hotel we stayed in had an amazing 4 floor spa with all sorts of pools and saunas etc...i know we won%26#39;t find womething as good but a big spa is a must :)
4. we%26#39;re not to sure that we want to go back to andorra at all, we would probably prefer somewhere with more guarenteed snow..
5. the apres ski and townneeds to be lively as we like going out in the evening, or at least having the option.
6.and finally great food in the hotel as we will be going for half board...
7. oh and one more this...ski right down to the hotel..i don%26#39;t want to be getting buses etc. we were right at the gondella last year.
8.budget is between 1000-1500 rounghly each...
9.4/5 star hotel
sorry im being so specific but if anyone has any suggestions we would really appriciate them....thanks so much for reading this...

The last time I went to Andorra, I stayed in the city, rented a car, and went to a different resort everyday. If you have an intermediate level, you might get bored at one place for the whole time. Though you definitely won%26#39;t get a ski in/ski out hotel there. You would have to take a bus or car.
I would think that by the end of January snow would be pretty much guaranteed. But in the northern hemisphere, Canada and the US have had much more luck than Europe in the past couple of years with snow.
Have you looked online, like on Expedia, or with a travel agent?

Hi,
The sport Hermitage is probably one of the best Hotels in Andorra.
Last year was a bad year for snow all over Europe. Check the snow history for soldeu / eltarter and you will see that the snow is usually plentifull in January, so if you liked everything except the conditions I%26#39;d recomend giving it another go. The grandvalira area is by far trhe best in Andorra.
If you%26#39;re looking for Ski to hotel with a spa check out the Nordic.

This year is looking much better with some Alpine resorts open 6 weeks earlier than usual. There have been a few flurries in the Pyrenees already, so there is hope for this season here as well.
