We have just been informed from First Choice that there is building work going on in the grounds next to Del Clos - does anyone know to what extent and if it is noisy. They offered a free transfer to somewhere else but we have to pay for any upgrades, organise our own ski package, and this only 4 days before we fly. Any info we can get will be helpful

Just got back from the Del Clos appartments at the Nordic.
There%26#39;s considerable building work taking place next the the Del Clos Hotel, a big appartment development is being built. From what I saw they seem to be at the excavation / foudation stage, there%26#39;s a big crane working and lorries removing groundworks etc. I only went past twice around 5 pm and the noise was not massive. I wouldn%26#39;t think that it would impinge on your stay too much if you intend being up and out during the day.
The work has obviously been going on for many weeks and the Tour operator would have known about this for ages.
See if you can get removed to the Del Clos appartments or Nordic, great location and accomodation.

No, stay there, at Del Clos I mean. You will be up early every morning, I assume. Well before work begins on at the site. If you look at my review of Del Clos Hotel you will actually see how close the works are from one of my photos.
Find out if the work will be going on late at night, that is the only thing that would worry me.
We were up every morning at 8am (ish) anyway, are you the same? If you are going for a bit of a rest also you might reconsider.
Read my review of Del Clos which is only 3 weeks old. We loved it (my son and I)
One tip if you are a first timeer. Book a ski locker at the Nordic ski hire shop or else up near the top of the Gondola.
I say this because we found the 10 minute walk in ski boots to/from the gondola to Del Clos quite difficult (not to mention painful).
It will cost you about €50 for the week near the Gondola while the hotel storage is free. If I were going again, i%26#39;d gladly pay the €50.

Also agree with stockport, the Nordic hotel is very very nice, but I found Del Clos hotel very homely and the staff were fab.

Thanks for the help everyone. We have now been GUARANTEED that we are in a room away from the building work - packing underway and getting excited even about getting up at 3am in the morning. We stayed at the Nordic last year but everywhere is full now so no change was possible.
