I am going skiing for the first time ever in 2 weeks in Pas and was wondering what the ski shops are like?
I have a jacket and trousers and was going to buy some gloves but was told by someone to buy them out there as there is a good selection and they are cheap. Has anyone any idea if this is the case or should I buy some before I go?
If so, any idea what type to buy? I%26#39;m happy to spend up to £50 but no idea what to buy, are dakine/burton any good or just paying for a label?
Any help or advice for a complete novice greatly appreciated!

DR, I was in El Tarter last week and the gear shopping there was excellent in terms of availibility and value. Gear was cheaper than in Ireland. I was sorry that I had not waited. The ski hire shop also sells everything from braces, to ear warmers to snow boards, so that would be a good first stop for you. There will also be other ski gear shops and all offering very good value.
The only thing to be aware of if you will be joining a ski school is that you will have to get your gear before it begins. I suggest you buy your gear on the evening before ski school, i.e. the same time as you hire your boots and skis.
If you wait until the morning of ski school, you might easily miss the registration.
You will get label gear there for the same price as non label gear here. I found the staff very helpful too and I intend buying a ski jacket on my next visit. (This time I borrowed from a friend)
What I loved about Andorra in general is that no one cared what you wore on the slopes. The main thing is that you are comfortable and warm.

I did mean to add that even though I was in El Tarter, I can only imagine that the ski gear shopping in Pas de la casa will be even better as it%26#39;s a bigger resort.
