not quite luxury in La Pleta apartment Soldeu

This is a review of an apartment rented out by Kelvin Prescott/Kirsty Adams/Daniel Adams

The apartment was very spacious and well situated, however there were a number of things that were

disappointing and attention to these things in the future would enhance the experience for future

travellers.

1. There were very few towels provided, of these two were drying on a radiator and three were still

in the washing machine. When we were asked for more towels, this was a big problem for your rep,she

she wasn%26#39;t sure how many towels there were and then tried to justify that four large towels and two

small ones were somehow enough for six of us, when we pressed her, she said she might have to buy

some! Eventually these arrived the next day.

2. There were no batteries in the remote control so it was difficult to test if the TV was working. It would have been nice to watch TV one or two times in the evening.

3. There was a half a toilet roll supplied between six people. We eventually found some in the locker in thecar park area. Surely the rep should have ensured that these were in the room.

4. When we arrived the rep had put a baby%26#39;s cot in one of the rooms, even though you were aware

that my grandson was eight. Hence there was nowhere for him to sleep, so we had to remove the mattress

from the sofa bed and put in to my daughter%26#39;s room. We expected a proper bed for him and at no stage did

they make us aware that this would be the case. The rep just said the apartment slept six.

5. On the eve of our last day we attempted to clean the apartment as per the requirement, yet we discovered there was no dustpan and brush, there were no toilet brushes either so we couldn%26#39;t clean the loos properly.

We had to make do with the mop and bucket and try to clean it as best we could. I am sure when we left

anyway the apartment was less dusty than when we moved in.

6. The rep was adamant that I would have to buy the ski passes off her since we had booked them. I pointed out that her colleague had phoned me in Dublin three days before we left to let me know that he would get ski passes at a discount and that if we didn%26#39;t want them that was ok because he could give them back. The cost of the passes were the same as the ones we bought in the resort on our credit card, so what was the advantage of buying from the rep and paying cash?

A number of other annoying things - no dishwasher tabs ( yet we bought a box and left two thirds behind);no clothes storage facilities in rooms other than in the en suite; an aside comment %26quot; they should have paid the 50 euro cleaning charge%26quot; when we called back when we were leaving to pick up

our bags and use the loo;, bed linen thrown into the bottom of our wardrobe; petty things like replacing tea and coffee when we were paying top dollar for the rental; we have all stayed in places charging a lot less where a very substantial welcome

pack was provided;a number of light bulbs not working and no spares provided.

Our overall impression was that either the rep was very lazy and could not be bothered and/or there was not sufficient budget for her to make these differences.

A luxury apartment - far from it!! I wouldn%26#39;t recommend it.

Take this up with your rental company.

That is a coincidence, 2 groups from Ireland, both first time posters, both had towels drying on the radiators, both renting from the same people - one group of 5 and one of 6. Shame you didn%26#39;t meet up while you were there as one managed to see the rep after the first day and the other didn%26#39;t and they got extra toilet paper !!!!!!
