non-Schengen country?

We are traveling to Europe for 6 months, and need to spend 90 days of those in non-Schengen country. Does Andorra qualify for that? Thanks

Here is a list of Schengen countries:

Have struggled to find a definitive list of non schengen countries, but hopefully the above sites will help a bit.

Switzerland clearly is not a Schengen Country, so that may be a better bet for you. ALSO the UK is not, although we recognise the visa etc.

This site shows that Andorra also is not part of the Schengen agreement:

How will you prove you spent time in Andorra. We went from France to Pas in February for a day and forgot to take our passports. We weren%26#39;t stopped going in or out. Going in there wasn%26#39;t even anyone around to stop us.

Also have been thinking about this. Andorra, whilst full of mountaineous beauty, is pretty titchy as countries go. 90 days there could be a bit much, really!!

The first part is true, the second part is NOT! A Schengen visa is valid only for Schengen and, as it happens, those non-Schengen countries/territories that can only be reached via Schengen countries, namely Andorra, San Marino and the Vatican. This means that none of these can be used as somewhere to spend the 90 days you have to spend outside Schengen before you can qualify for another 90 days in Schengen, given that as has been mentioned, there are no border controls and you will not be able to prove (whether by a stamp on your passport or by producing a train, plane or boat ticket) when you left Schengen.

The UK (and Ireland, for the time being) are outside Schengen and have separate visa requirements, although Americans will normally qualify for visa waiver so you can spend 90 days there. Also in Switzerland although it has signed the Schengen treaty and I think membership will become effective at the end of next yera.

That%26#39;s told us then!!
