Motxo Chalet

Has anyone stayed in the Motxo Chalet? I%26#39;m going there this weekend and wanted to know what to expect.

I have stayed in Chalet Motxo in El Tartae January 06. We went as a large party and stayed in the Chalet next door aswell. The Chalet was a trek up a hill and we stayed in a side room. The room was large and at first we were disappointed not to have a front facing balcony. As we discovered this overlooked the locals disco and was incredibly noisy until the very early hours and causing many of our friends to have sleepless nights. The local police did little to kerb the locals noise. We evenutally switched off the radiators in order to keep the windows closed.

The food in the chalet started with biscuits on our arrival for tea and a 3 course excellent meal and copious quantities of wine. The tea%26#39;s got gradually larger and the evening meal was supberb every night. The 2 chalet staff very easy to get along. The chalet is cosy and kept clean. I don%26#39;t know how I would feel if I had to share the lving accomodation with people I did not know but like all hols you would muck in. We would stay again but it was a bit of trek to the slopes every morning and even worse uphill after a hard day. Next year we are staying in the Hotel Nordic which you can ski from hotel to slopes. El Tartar is excellent for beginners and ski school brilliant with english instuctors. For more experienced the more challenging slopes are just over the hill - so I have been told - I will find that out next year I hope.

I have just returned form a week in Andorra. Myself and my boyfriend stayed at the chalet Moxto which i have to say was great. there were three other parties in the chalet and it was good that evertone was treated as a family. the rooms are cleaned daily and they change the towels once weekly. Breakfast is croissants and jam,ham and butter aswell as cereal. if your like me and love your poridge take it with you s you cannot get it out there.

The chef is amazing and cannot do enough to help you....notice how he changes from speaking fluent english with you to not knowing a word when the boss turns up!!! very funny.

There is a walk up a steep hill to get to the chalet, however it does get easier by the end of the week. Black out blinds are great and all rooms have built in fridge (in the form of a massive window sill outside). There is a nightclub that is directly outside the chalet, but if you have a room at the back you should be fine, if you have a room at the front, do some more skiing and drink some more of the free wine that is offered at dinner. However in the 7 days that we were there we only heard noice form the club twice - one of those was our departure night!!!

Its lovely - i had a great time!!!! Plus fab views of a great black run just outside
