Buying a Camera in Andorra

For those in the know..

Given that I sat on my camera and broke it on a night out, I was intending to replace it whilst in Andorra.

Is the duty free really a good deal? I have visions of buying something in Andorra only to find it £20 cheaper in Dixons!!

We%26#39;re staying in Pas- is it worth bussing it to La Vella for a wider range of shops and cheaper prices? Or are the prices the same in the resorts?

I used (note the past tense) to wait to buy electronics in Andorra, as I go there once or twice a year.

After finding cheaper deals once back home, or a at the airports, or worse indeed, having problems with 80% of the items I did bought (maybe it was just back luck).... honesty I prefer to buy them near home, so I can complain in case I have any problems (funny enough, I had nothing to complain about my last purchases in Barcelona, touch wood.....).

If you decide to buy it in Andorra, be aware the prices may be very different (not only from resort to resort, as well from shop to shop), so you must know well the prices at your country and compare many shops... too much waste of time IMO.

We looked around at most things in Pas in February and the only thing we saw worth considering was one laptop. Just about everything else was no different to prices back in London or on the internet.

I returned from Andorra last week. The current exchange rate is making shopping there much less attractive at the moment. A purchase I made for 180 euros came out at £147.47. Quite a difference on last trip. You can probably get better deals on cameras over the internet at home. I did on a Canon EO5 digital camera and 300mm lens.
