Andorra - Worth it?

Hi:

I%26#39;m going to be in Barcelona in late Jan/early Feb with my family. I%26#39;ll arrive about 2 days before everyone else. Thus I was wondering - is it worth heading over to Andorra?

I hear its a 3 hour shuttle ride from Barcelona. So I%26#39;d take this shuttle after my arrival in Barcelona and head to Andorra. I%26#39;m thinking of overnighting at a fairly inexpensive hotel ($75-100 or so) and taking the shuttle back the next afternoon or so.

My question is - is this worth it? I love mountain views and the main reason I%26#39;m considering this mini trip is b/c Andorra is in the Pyrenees. I%26#39;m not particulary into shopping or into skiing and so if the mountain views aren%26#39;t all that, I%26#39;d prefer heading elsewhere.

Any advice or input would be much appreciated!

Andorra has fantastic mountain views, but only you can decide if that amount of travelling to hit Andorra at the height of the ski season is going to be worth it for you.

A popular day trip from Barcelona to the mountains is to visit the Monastery at Montserrat. This also has fantastic mountain views, and may be a little easier for you, perhaps?

Thanks for the link! Looks lovely. The thing is, I%26#39;m sure my family and I will take the day trip over to Montserrat when they arrive.

If I do head over to Andorra, will I get the mountain views in Andorra la Vella? Or do I need to travel to one of the smaller villages to really see them? Ideally, I%26#39;d love to find a nice hotel with a good view and maybe hit a spa...Any suggestions?

The main %26#39;spa%26#39; area in Andorra is Escaldes-Engordanay with some original old Spa Hotels and a brand new fantastic day spa Caldea.
