ski/board lessons

Hi

Has anyone had high-intermediate/advanced snowboarding and/or skiing lessons in Andorra (any resort) and can recommend any good schools?

Thanks

Hi,

Just seen this post, so I%26#39;m a bit late, but were you asking for next year?

I will answer it anyway, for anyone else reading it.

Andorra has very good ski schools, and employ a lot of British instructors. It is said they have the best ski school in Europe.

We stay in Soldeu in the Grand Valira, where an area pass covers 5 resorts. Soldeu is in the middle, so well positioned to ski to Pas and Grau to the left, or El Tarter and Canillo to the right.

My sons did ski school every year, and became excellent skiiers. On the first day they test your ability to put you in the right group, and will move you up or down as necessary during the week. My sons learned a lot in the advanced group, like skiing on one leg, and 360 turns, and skiing backwards, so they still improved, and one of them won the overall junior trophy for the slalom race on the last day. The quickest time in each class wins a medal.( all classes do this).

Snowboarding is different, as not so many people have lessons for this unless they are beginners. My nephews booked into Snowboard school last year, but found it boring. When we asked about a higher group, we were told there wasn%26#39;t one, as lack of demand.

I think snowboarders would get more from booking a private instructor, if they don%26#39;t want to be hanging around waiting for others who are of a lower level, and want to try steeper slopes, or learn how to use the snowparks.
