Going to Soldeu in Feb half term 2009.
We are renting a car from doyouspain.com (cheap rent for Ford Focus at £50 for 8 days) from Girona airport (flights were £2.89 each with Ryanair).
However, not sure what to do about snow chains.
Any ideas about where to buy/rent. Dont want to rely on car hire firm as they never have them!

I have got all that; £2.89 flight from Luton and a Scenic for £49.99 from DoYouSpain.
I have my own chains which I bring in my carry on - can hardly lift the bag, but Ryanair have never asked to weigh it ;-). If they did I would just bin them as there is no real guarantee they will fit the car I am given. You can buy chains in most supermarkets as you near the mountains. They cost about £10 for a set. Try putting them on as soon as you get them as (trust me) you don%26#39;t want to do it for the first time in freezing, driving snow.
Subscribe to the e-mails from http://www.skiinfo.com they also give road reports and advise if chains are mandatory.

Not going to Andorra. We stay the other side of the mountains in France.
Don%26#39;t forget you will probably need the extra insurance to take the car out of Spain. Ours is €7 per day.
