Prices of things anmd where to go?!

Hi all, me and my mates are off to Pas on the 18th Jan and were wondering how much are drinks out there? Plus if you know any good places to go and have a few cheap ones before hitting the clubs this would be great!?!? Please reply asap, the clock is ticking and I%26#39;m counting, roll on the 18th!!!

Hi matt

Drinks arent that cheap anymore, but paddys bar do have a happy hour 4-5pm £1.75 a drink a pint, and 5-7pm £2.75 a pint (all drinks were this price ie vodka n coke). After the happy hours though £4 a pint. These were the best prices we found. Beware restaurants make their money on the drinks, we were charged 4 euros for a can of diet coke, thats just a rip off as they were 60 cents in a supermarket.

We have just been for xmas week, loved it and would go again but would take as much stuff with us.

enjoy your week

Ok, that%26#39;s brilliant info, thanks very much. Will get drunk in our hotel rooms before we hit the bars!! What are the prices of the bars and restaurants on the slopes like, I%26#39;m guessing expensive!?

|||

Hi Matt, The cheapest place in Pas is Paddys Bar. Check it out its by far the best bar.

The problem nowadys is the exchange rate, I have been going to Pas for the last 3/4years and the prices have been the same every year. Average pint price is 4€

Check out pasdelacasainfo.com for cheap lift passes equipment hire. Have a good time

Cheers mate, sounds like we may be having a few nights in our hotel room getting drunk, will still be a laugh, lol! Will check out paddy%26#39;s!! Already got our lift passes, booked through inghams and they did a deal for bogof on lift passes, whoop whoop!!!!!! Will definately have a good time. Anyone got any recommendations on where to stop for luch and snacks on the slopes and also where the best supermarket is for getting our cheap booze and mixers, oh and some food of course? lol

We found the spar ok just round the corner from burger king. But beware because the pound is so weak against the euro it will cost a small fortune. Take as much stuff with you as you can carry. Tea coffee, tins of soup, vaccumm packed meat. Your allowed 5kg of meat (i took bacon but wished id took chicken, mince etc). Price of diet coke is ok, 60 cents a can in spar, and i found a bottle (1lt) of vodka for 1 euro 70cents bargain!!!!

By the sounds of it it is going to be a lads hol?? Can you cook?? spag bol, pasta dishes etc are so quick n easy n will leave you more cash for hitting the bars!!!

av a good time :-)

I got back from Pas today. We stayed at manzano apts. Their happy hour is 15:30-18:30, then 21:30-22:30 each night. Its near the top of the hill, so may not suit unless you are staying nearby.

We found the SPAR shop more expensive than the larger supermarkets for most things. 5 pieces of lean bacon was 3.17 euro there. Local, sliced bread in a clear plastic bag without labels is about 1.60 euro, but get the name brand packet sliced one like at home was 3.50 euro!

There is a butcher which we thought was great value. The supermarkets sell pre-packages meat which you cant actually see, its expensive %26amp; in small packets.

If you are walking down the road from the Olympiades hotel or manzano/himalayia hotels, look for the CHAT HOTEL sign, its large %26amp; yellow. Opposite side of rd is a pink sign that says %26#39;sala de jocs%26#39; with an arrow pointing down some metal stairs. Go down there %26amp; on the left in the corner is a tiny butcher. If coming from the bottom of the village, go past Burger king, cross the road past %26#39;sala de jocs%26#39; shop %26amp; its at the end of the little, dark alley way past the underground pub. Called %26#39;carnisseria%26#39;

We got 1 inch thick steaks, 300g each for 3euro. That was his best steak too, not the cheaper stuff. He also sells duck, sausages, lamb, pork %26amp; hams. Sausages were about 4 euro for 500g.

You can get fresh veg, tinned veg or frozen to go with it. We had a microwave so got frozen spinach %26amp; mashed potatoe. All we did was cook the steaks, heat up the veg %26amp; we had a meal. A steak in a restaurant was 19euro, not including any veg or the service charge.

Mountain restaurants for lunch were 8 euro for spagetti/pastas, 10-12 euro for a meat stew thing %26amp; 4.40 for a soup + 85c for a bread roll.

A large green supermarket called %26#39;fran per%26#39; sold port, liquors, muscat, wine etc from barrels. You get a plastic bottle in either 1, 2 or 5 litres. If you take the bottle back to be re-filled, you get a discount. Their wine was 1.20 euro per litre! We didnt try it, but the reserve port if the best I have EVER had.

Have a great time.

Wow, cheers guys, you have all been great help, as previously stated we are staying in a hotel and are lucky we got a good deal where we have half board, but it%26#39;s the only forum I have found any of this info so hopefully will be a great help to many others so if anyone has any more info on this stuff then please add and keep this list going!? Hows the snow out there at the moment? Do the cannons go on every night so there is always fresh snow? New to all this so not really sure about how it all works!! Will definately be going to the supermarket though, we will be drinking in our hotel rooms I think most of the time and at that price who cares what it tastes like, if its that bad can always add something to make it bearable I%26#39;m sure, or make a drinks comp where the winner has to drink a glass of the nasty stuff, lol!!

|||

I%26#39;m afraid it%26#39;s actually more of a couples holiday, but we are all young couples who like a drink and a good laugh so will take all you have said on board Kaz, ta very much!! Luckily we are half board so have only got to worry about snacky stuff, quite relieved from that point of view as I thought it would be cheap to eat out, but I suppose any where where Brits go in large numbers is expensive so should have expected it. We will be buying booze from the supermarket and drinking before we go out I think!!!!!

We are a couple in our early 30%26#39;s %26amp; still had a great time there. I was there 4th-11th Jan %26amp; it snowed 3 days. The snow cannons were on in some places ALL day as it was that cold. -10 some nights, but that was a really cold snap.

I took pkts of Chinese type noodles, pasta pkts etc to make as a snack in the afternoons when we come in from skiing. The ones from home were cheaper (no-named brands for 30p) compared to 2-3 euro per pkt there. Check if there is a kettle in your room though!

On a fri night the Milwakee pub has a %26#39;stars %26amp; stripes%26#39; ribs %26amp; chicken night. We got tickets from our rep, but I think you can go even if not with a tour group. It was 25 euro each. It was a good laugh as it also included 2hrs of free drinking involving the staff re-filling our beer %26amp; wine jugs constantly.

The food consisted of one jacket potato, a spoon of coldslaw, 1-2 chicken wings %26amp; very fatty ribs. Not the nice chinese/US style ones with a sticky sauce, but just bits of ribs %26amp; fat. Dessert was a piece of apple crumble which was the best bit.

The food was cleared away before we had even finished the mains %26amp; dessert. The wine was seriuously like vinegar %26amp; considering you can get a nice bottle for 2euro, its really bad. Myself %26amp; another girl ended up buying our own drinks as the wine was like paint stripper.

There was supposed to be a %26#39;band%26#39; %26amp; a comedian. The %26#39;entertainment%26#39; involved one guy singing %26amp; playing his guitar. It was a good laugh %26amp; everyone got onto the tables %26amp; benches to sing along, but he literally played only 6 songs before we were mustered out into the top bar.

If you are a bunch of lads that can tolerate all you can drink %26#39;bud%26#39; beer %26amp; dont care too much about eating, its great, but the rest of us felt a bit cheated. If you have HB, you could eat there, have some nice, palettable wine %26amp; beers, then go to Milwakee about 10pm Fri %26amp; still soak in the atmosphere without having to tolerate the drinks, so called entertainment %26amp; pay through the nose for the priviledge.

sorry matt, should have read your post more carefully, thought by mates you meant lads. Hope i didnt offend! We went out as a party of 14 (8 being kids) so it was expensive to go out for a meal with the pound being so weak, 1st night we went out ordered 3 margareta pizzas and 2 chips, 4 cans diet coke and a pint for the hubby and it was 45 euros. You made a wise choice going half board!!! We were self catering, but we did have a good few too many drinks in the apartments once the kids were in bed, which suited us. If the snow is as good as it was at xmas you%26#39;ll have a fantastic week
