Hotel Himalaia Pas de La Casa

Hi

Can Anyone tell me if the Himalaia hotel had upgraded its standards, reviews seem pretty bad, I have stayed there food was dreadful but rest ok, as it is alot more expensive than the other 4 star hotels, I was wondering if it has improved or not.

Also does anyone know if Aldo the barman is still working there.

Thanks in advance

Having just returned from Pas de la Casa ( 21Feb- 1 March))and having stayed in this hotel, I will answer my own questions so that it may be useful to others.

Despite some bad reviews we found the hotel welcoming and comfortable, the rooms are large and extremely warm so best to pack plenty of t-shirts to wear in the hotel, plenty of hot water and daily maid service. Reception staff extremely helpful as was the bar staff and restaurant, breakfast was plentiful but best to get early as can be quite noisy after 8 am, we ate out everyday as we opted for B%26amp;B we found ( see full hotel review) Bar/lounge very smoky and could be very noisy especially with badly behaved kids.

Swimming pool clean water temperatures not too warm Jacuzzi ( strangely full of sand (?) ) and sauna door temperamental but clean and hot.

Ski lockers un-heated but adequate ( couple of doors down the road heated ski lockers at reasonable cost)

Ski school %26amp; lift passes available at the reception same price as in resort or via the internet, best to pre-book to get morning classes.

Ski shop at the end of the road, did an excellent service job on our ski%26#39;s and and my daughter got a great price on her snowboard and boot rental.

Slopes beside Pas de la Casa excellent in the morning ( 09:00 am ) but icy and bumpy afternoons, best skiing terrain was Grau Roig %26amp; Soldeu

Aldo- sadly no longer in Andorra, typical Italian - he misbehaved!! Aparently is now working in the Canary Islands - he is missed by all whom knew him as he was a great barman.
