Warning: Dont take shopping bags into shops

Just returned after a terrific week in Pas. My only gripe was their shopping bag policy in some stores. You cannot take shopping with you into a shop. Some places had a little locker to put your previous purchases in which was good.

I went to the SPAR %26amp; got some bits, paid %26amp; was about to walk out when realised I%26#39;d forgotten something. I hadn%26#39;t even left the shop, so went back to the shelf, got the packet I needed %26amp; went back to the same lady that had served me minutes before.

As I was paying for my packet, she grabbed my other bag %26amp; searched through it, then took my partners bag (who hadnt even been in the shop %26amp; was simply packing the bags!) %26amp; searched through his. She yelled at me, then called over a collegue %26amp; they both yelled. I had no idea what they were saying, despite me trying to converse in my limited French %26amp; Spanish. Luckily, we had the reciept from my partners butcher purchases, but she hadn%26#39;t given me a receipt the 1st time through her shop. I thought she was going to keep the bag of shopping, despite having paid only minutes before for it.

After a very long %26amp; embarrassing argument in several languages, she let go of my original bag, letting us through with a huff.

Make sure you get a reciept for every purchase, no matter how small %26amp; if you can, leave any shopping with a friend outside. It saves lots of embarrassment %26amp; the risk of losing the shopping you have already paid for.
