Hi,

The resort has got off to the best season for years.

Check out grandvalira.com for snow conditions, webcams and other info.

|||

Just come back on 18th. Experiencing the best snow for 4 yrs so much they plan to open til May. Tons off the stuff, dump before we got there and about half way through, couldnt complain even a tinsy bit abput the snow!

|||

there has been even more of the white stuff in the last few days with more forecast so at the moment it is perfect.

we went mid feb last year and the snow is already much deeper now than then so as long as you get the odd top up then conditions should be absolutely perfect.

go to www.grandvalira.com for all the info you need.enjoy!

I am flying off with some friends tomorrow and we are going to be driving from Barcelona. Just checked the Grandvalira site and it says that road access from Port Puymorens is closed!!

Looking at the runs, of which near half are closed, I guess the weather is pretty bad at the moment...

For those who have gone before, any idea of what happens? Do you just turn back, wait? Or will they work on clearing the roads?

Any sites about road access would be great.

If the weather is bad then I would access Andorra via Spain rather than France, check out the routes on one of the route planners and you will see that there%26#39;s not much difference between the routes, the advantage of going through the Spanish border is that the climb up is more gradual and less vulnerable to being closed.

Make sure you%26#39;ve got snow chains.

Yes, that was the only other thing that I could consider, and although its the only way, then if we must, then I am happy to just get there!

One the grandvalira web site, it also says that Port d%26#39;Envalira is %26#39;closed%26#39;. Now, I guess this means the mountain pass, so I guess it means that the ONLY route to Pas is through the tunnel? Because if not, then there isnt actually any other way to get there is there?

Thank for the advice and help - quite worried seeing as its the night before...

Looks like the snow has stopped, and that the roads from the West are clear.

Take a look at …andorramania.com/mapaandorra.php.

I would 100% recoment that you travel via Spain and Andorra La Vella, there%26#39;s a much better chance of a clear run.

Best of.

Re above link....click on Web cams on this site.

Thanks - I think that the West is best way (er... and only!) to go. So just to confirm, I enter Andorra via the Spain/Andorra border and work my way through the country via the main highway.

One past Soldeu, an on the CG-2, I take a right at a big roundabout and this takes me through a tunnel, which appears the other side of the mountain and turn right to get to Pas.

Thanks for your help mate - if these are right, then I can get back on with packing!

Yep, that%26#39;s the main road through the country, Andorra La Vella, Encamp Canillo ElTarter Soldeu Grau Roug Pas.

Enjoy.
