Driving in April

Anyone got advice re driving from Toulouse to Girona via Andorra in April? Would the conditions be safe/ require tyre chains etc?

It%26#39;s impossible to say for sure, the roads could well be clear but last year there was loads of snow in April.

Do you need/want to go via Andorra in particular? If conditions are bad head for Perpignan and then dwon through La Jonquera to Gerona. We had snow chains with us last week but the roads were great. They really have it sorted when it comes to keeping them clear (more than can be said here inthe UK!). had to cancel a hiking trip in june once because of snow - so you never know . . .
