Arinsal in February

Hi,

I have been to Arinsal twice before, but always towards the end of March when it has been quite warm, and we have been able to ski with a small top under our jackets, and have enjoyed the sunshine and none snowy conditions! I know that might sound quite strange for someone who wants to go ski-ing, but I have read some of the reports of the massive snowfall on the 11th Feb this year, and am getting a bit worried as we are looking at going 7th-14th Feb and don%26#39;t want the slopes to be closed due to avalanche risks! Does anyone else have any comments on Feb weather - thanks.

We always go to Andorra in Feb half term, but stay in Soldeu in the Grand Valira. We have never had a problem with avalanches or slopes being closed. We have had varying weather in the same week, even between am and pm. Some days have been warm and sunny ( quite hot by noon on the lower slopes), and others have been very cold, cloudy, or snowing. We always carry our goggles and hats, and wear layers we can take off. We have never had a week of cloud/snow every day, but have had holidays when it has been sunny and blue skies every day.

We wear a short sleeved thermal vest, and a polo neck top under our jackets, but I take long sleeved thermals ( and leggings) as well, just in case. It can still get cold on the chairlifts and at the top.

Some people feel the cold more than others. My teenage son only wears a T shirt, and sometimes just a fleece on top.
