arinsal v pas de la casa

my sister and I are heading skiing Dec 27th 2009 for the very first time (absolutely no prior experience) and can%26#39;t decide between arinsal %26amp; pas de la casa!! we want the best choice of beginner slopes as well as lively apres ski. any advice???

You would be better of in Arinsal or Soldeau. Pas is great, but has far more %26#39;testing%26#39; slopes and less skiing for beginners, you want to look for a resort with lots of green and blue runs, not blacks or Reds, Pas has lots of Reds, a few blacks, a few blues and very few greens.

Soldeau and Arinsal both have LOADS of gentle, sweeping, fun blues %26amp; greens, you would fare much better there.

I%26#39;d second the above.

Soldeu is quiter than Pas but if you stay in the centre, where the majority of the accomadation is anyway, there%26#39;s plenty of nightlife to enjoy for a week.

Agree that Soldeu is a brilliant resort for beginners. Only one High Street, but some good clubs and bars.(Fat Alberts, Slim Jims, Eisberg Pub, Irish pub, the Aspen.

Very friendly resort, popular with English and Irish.

You can ski everywhere on blue runs once you have mastered the basics of skiing. Excellent ski school for Brits as employ British instructors( not just benzeenees)! They make it fun as well.

Easy access to slopes on gondola from the street centre, next to Sport Village hotel. You can hire lockers here, so don%26#39;t have to carry skis from your hotel.

Soldeu is in the middle of 5 resorts, so good access to a wide area ( Pas De La Casa, Grau Roig, Soldeu, El Tarter, Canillo.)

The blue run all the way to Canillo has been voted the best blue in Europe, so they say.

We went to Arinsal in our early years, didn%26#39;t like it much. There was a bit of a bottle neck down to resort. We had to catch a 2 man chair in the morning, carrying skis and poles, but they have now built a gondola, and I%26#39;m sure it is now linked to Pal.

Hi, I have been on holiday to all the resorts in Andorra and Pas De La Casa is by far the best. It offers excellent skiing for all levels. For complete beginners they have 5/6 beginner slopes in the village area. Arinsal has lots of beginner runs but it is so so limited, after 3days it can be boring. For nightlife, Pas has the reputation of being the Ibiza with snow. You will have an awesome time in Pas. BOOK IT YOU WILL LOVE IT!!

If you go the best bar is Paddys Bar, It Rocks!!

Have fun when you go.
