New Years Eve 2009

Also can anyone give advice on the resort at xmas time over that week if it will be good fun etc...

Hi, we where in Pas last year for new years eve and had an awesome night. Firstly dont get cheated by any of the reps as they try to sell you tickets to go to some of the bars. We spent the whole night in Paddys Irish Bar, it was free entrance and they never increased the drink prices. We found out that all the other bars had an entrance fee, and increased there prices because it was new years eve. (Thats Cheating big time!!!) I am sure you will have an excellent night in Paddys but be early its the best bar in the resort.

Have a good time

Thanks so much for that its great to hear from others that were their before last year for NYE. So is Pas De La Casa a great place then? will we have a brilliant time? as none of us have been skiing before, this is first time for all of us and we are not quite sure what to expect from skiing or even pas de la casa. we chose it as we wanted skiing but lively nightlife also.

is there any tips or hints we would need to know etc? also where is best place to pre-book ski packs etc?

look forward to hearing from you

Thanks

Hi, you will have an awesome time in Pas!! To book the ski packs check out pasdelacasainfo.com, we booked with them last year and will do again this year. They are the cheapest for Lift Passes, equipment hire and tuition. What hotel are you staying in?

Staying in Snowlakes Apartments, I think it isnt too far from the slopes or nightlife? would you recommend getting the ski school and also taking the ski storage out?

Any other useful tips for Pas also?

Cheers

Hi Irish Lad,

We havn%26#39;t stayed in Pas, but have skiied there a lot as we have been skiing in the Grand Valira many times, staying in Soldeu. Pas is the largest town, with lots of pubs, clubs, shops etc.and is lively.

As this is your first trip, you will have to do ski school or book your own instructor if you cannot do a snowplough turn and stop safely. Andorra employs British instructors, and they make ski school more fun than in some of the other European resorts, and are easier to understand!

If you are able to book some lessons at a dry slope before your trip, you will not have to start in the basic beginner class, learning how to put boots and skis on etc, so will get more from your holiday as you will be able to start skiing straight away on the first day.

pasdelacasainfo.com are good, but I have got a better deal this year from skiholidayextras, part of ifyouski.com

I have booked passes and equipment with them for 10 people, and they gave a good price, and then knocked off 150€

I dealt with a chap named Tom, and spoke to him over the phone. Try tom@skiholidayextras.com or phone 01273 358076

See who gives you the best deal.

It is cheaper to book a lift pass/ equipment / lessons package. A beginners package is cheaper but will only give you a local pass for Pas De La Casa and Grau Roig.

If you want to ski the whole area, including Soldeu, El Tarter and Canillo, you will need an Improvers package which includes an area pass. Some people take to skiing quickly if they have good balance, and may then want to ski further than the local area in a week.

As Pas is at one end of the area, you have to make sure you get back before the lifts close, and not get stuck in the wrong resort ! It would be expensive to get a taxi back.

As there are 6 of you, you may prefer to book your own instructor and share the cost between you.
