Hi, have booked my husbands 30th birthday and am staying in Soldeu Andorra the Sport Hotel, am looking to see if anyone has any idea of any good bars or nightclubs , as not many people have mentioned any in there reviews.

Me again! Just seen your next question, so now I know you are staying in the Sport.
Re bars, Soldeu is not a large town like Pas De La Casa, but it is really friendly with a great apres ski atmosphere. If you have booked with a tour operator, your rep will tell you about the different bars, clubs etc at your welcome meeting. Tell them it is your HB%26#39;s birthday, and I%26#39;m sure they will help with suggestions.
A few of the bars have Happy Hour from 5pm when the lifts close for the day. The Aspen is very popular, and the Quiz night is usually held there. There is an Irish pub, and one called the Iceberg. I know my son goes to Fat Alberts and Slim Jims, but again, I will ask him for more info when he comes home.
The reps and ski instructors join in the apres ski, and my son will only come with us if we are going to Soldeu, as he says he has the best time there, both on and off the slopes.

You have def chosen a good resort for your first ski hol. Andorra is not picture postcard pretty, like some ski resorts, but as they employ a large number of British ski instructors, and they make ski school fun as well as good tuition, I%26#39;m sure you will come on leaps and bounds.
The great thing about the Grand Valira is that once you can do snowplough turns and stop, you can ski everywhere on blue runs. They are clearly marked on the mountain and piste map, and all have names, so you know which one you are on. They are also marked with numbers from the start to the end of that piste, so if it starts with a 50 you can see the signs 49,48,47,46 etc as you ski down, so you can follow the numbers as well, with no 1 being the end.
Have you booked a beginners package? It is the cheapest way, but will only include a local pass,. If you took some lessons at a dry slope before you go, you can book an improvers package instead, which includes an area pass. You will then start skiing straight away on your first day, instead of having to learn the basics first. This is what we did on our first trip.
You can choose morning or afternoon school. If you want morning, you MUST go up in the gondola early on the first morning, and go to the ski schl office to book in. Mornings are most popular because the pistes are fresh, the light is better, and you may be aching by the afternoon and want to go to a spa instead( at the Sport Hermitage hotel).
I have written reviews of the Sport Village and Piolets hotels, including info about the resort.

I agree with all the above, Soldeu is a great resort and very many people return year after year. I%26#39;ve been more than 10 times, love it and find that it compares well with other, more expensive resorts.
The ski school is superb and the resort very user friendly, you will be amazed by what you%26#39;re doing at the end of your first week. I%26#39;d recomend the morning lessons too, is you can be sure you%26#39;ll be out and up the Mountain by 10.
I last stayed at the Sport about 10 years ago, and found it very nice, it%26#39;s well situated for the Gondola, being just over the road from the newer Sport Village hotel where the Gondola lands. There%26#39;s a great Bar in the basement of the Hotel and all of the other good bars are just a short walk away. Check the happy hour times and you%26#39;ll find some good apres ski drinks deals.
Sure you%26#39;ll have a great time, do consider some time on ski%26#39;s in the UK before your holiday, it%26#39;ll pay dividends.
